SYMBIOTIQUE

About

Inspired by the Japanese '3 Face' theory, which suggests that we each carry three distinct versions of ourselves, this duet explores how two people grow together while honoring their separate worlds. Like a symbiosis, where beings thrive through their connection while maintaining their individual essence, the partners navigate the balance between their public personas, private expressions, and deep inner worlds.  The piece examines our desire to fully know another person, even as we discover the beauty in what remains surprising and unknown. As the dancers chose to share or withdraw different parts of themselves, they demonstrate how relationships flourish not when we become one, but when we find harmony between transparency and mystery. Through this constant recalibration between two people, the work explores how genuine partnership emerges when we learn to hold both our connection and our separateness as equally sacred.
