Fidjhi Festival February 15, 2025

A new duet by Brett will premiere at the 2025 Fidjhi Festival at the Espace Rhénan in Kembs, France.  This duet is in collaboration with the NEST Collective and the dancers of the Ballet du Rhin.

Inspired by the Japanese '3 Face' theory, which suggests that we each carry three distinct versions of ourselves, this duet explores how two people grow together while honoring their separate worlds. Like a true symbiosis, where beings thrive through their connection while maintaining their individual essence, partners must navigate the spaces between their public personas, private expressions, and deep inner worlds. Set to a distorted version of Pachelbel's Canon in D, the piece examines our desire to fully know another person, even as we discover the beauty in what remains surprising and unknown. As the dancers chose to share or withdraw different parts of themselves, the piece reflects how relationships flourish not when we become one, but when we find harmony between transparency and mystery. Through this constant recalibration between two people, the work explores how genuine partnership emerges when we learn to hold both our connection and our separateness as equally sacred.

Musée Unterlinden May 17, 18 2025

Brett will choreograph and dance in a live art piece at the Musée Unterlinden in Colmar, France.  The piece contrasts the museum's draperie from the Middle Ages against the complex draperie of a Kimono.  Inspired by the role of garments in traditions, ceremonies and the "sacred",  Brett will use her late Grandmother's Kimono to mark this exploration of Eastern and Western rituals.
